Privacy

The person responsible for this policy (the data controller, where that term applies) is Rajat, an independent developer, reachable at mrr.rajat.contact@gmail.com.

The PubFile app

• No upload. Opening, previewing and converting .pub files happens entirely on your computer. The app does not send your documents, their contents, their names, or anything derived from them to us or to anyone else.
• No account. There is nothing to sign up for. The in-app purchase uses your existing Apple Account, handled by Apple.
• Works offline. After installation, no internet connection is required for anything the app does. The only network activity is the in-app purchase and its receipt validation with Apple (StoreKit); we receive no personal data from it. Clicking Privacy Policy or Terms in the app opens this website in your browser.
• No analytics, no telemetry, no crash reporting unless you choose to send a crash report through Apple's standard dialog, which goes to Apple and is shared with us only if you have opted in to sharing with developers.
• Sandboxed. The app runs in the macOS App Sandbox and can only read the files and folders you open or drop onto it.
• Free-conversion count. The number of free exports you have used is stored in your Mac's keychain as a synchronisable item, so iCloud Keychain (Apple) may carry it to your other Macs. It is a number; it contains nothing about your documents.
• Reports are shown in the app and, for IDML exports, written next to your output files on your disk (<name>.report.txt and .json). They contain text extracted from your document (so you can see what was checked). Treat them with the same care as the document.

This website

• Static pages hosted on GitHub Pages (GitHub, Inc.). GitHub may log requests (IP address, user agent) as any web host does; see GitHub's privacy statement.
• No cookies, no analytics scripts, no tracking pixels, no third-party fonts.
• The interest form has no server of ours behind it. Submitting it opens your own mail app with the answers filled in, addressed to mrr.rajat.contact@gmail.com; nothing is sent until you press Send in your mail app. We keep the email only to reply and to send release notices, and delete it on request or if you reply "stop".

Purchases

PubFile Pro is sold only as an in-app purchase on the Mac App Store. Apple processes the payment and holds your purchase record; we never see your name, email or card details. App Privacy label: Data Not Collected.

Your rights

You can ask what we hold about you (for most people: nothing, or an email address), ask us to delete it, or unsubscribe at any time. Contact details are on the support page.

Changes

If anything above changes we will update this page and the date at the top. We will not add tracking to the app or the site without saying so here.
